I asked a local where to get authentic cajun food, and they sent me here. It was absolutely delightful!! There are no tables and chairs, so we had to take it back home, unfortunately, but everything was so flavorful. It was one of the best poboys we've ever had, and the gumbo was brimming with flavor. I do wish it had more meat, though, as there was a ton of juice. Their crawfish boudin was to die for!! I'll definitely hit this place up when I come back.

The 2 of us were curious about Yaka Mein soup and heard this place had some of the best in NOLA. When we saw how low the prices were we figured we'd better get some other dishes to make for a full dinner. We ordered one beef Yaka Mein and one shrimp Yaka Mein. Also got an order of gumbo and a small order of chicken wings. We were stunned how large the quantities were and impressed with how good the quality. The beef Yaka Mein was easily enough for two and, combined with the gumbo, we were plenty full. We saved the shrimp Yaka Mein for the next day and ate the the wings then, too. As you can see in the photos, the Yaka Mein was absolutely loaded with shrimp. Great food at a great price!

The shrimp fried rice is a must try! We had it as a side dish for the fried oysters, but the fried rice was just too good!! The boiled Cajun egg was an interesting dish, flavor that I have never had before but I really like it! Fried chicken was a little too salty for me but the texture was very good!

I've had Gumbo before I actually had real Gumbo and it's a shame learning that at 54 yrs old, first I looked for a black owned seafood restaurant (Since DEI has basically returned to Jim Crow era) now thing's will become harder for black businesses, Latino at the first order section said order as much you want since I'm alone not wanting to waste food he offered excellent suggestions, 2 corn 2 potatoes and slid an extra crab in making it 2 medium crabs, The Gumbo I wanted the small they were out and the owner (Constable) ordered the workers to make me a Gumbo, also allowed me 1/2 pound of shrimp at half of price so service was definitely 5 star, service was fast, first taste of the Gumbo was so good a tear ran down my face it was so good, the boiled egg cooked in the Gumbo was so good it put me to sleep, I just woke up and now it's time to finish where I left off with the rest of the food so I will update you on the rest when I finished, I HIGHLY RECOMMED THIS RESTAURANT

The catfish was amazing. The gumbo and shrimp was good as well. The only thing is the line was crazy so it took a while. I will definitely return every time I’m in New Orleans

Quick stop for seafood meats-cold and hot options. I had the gumbo! It was so flavorful! I'd go back! The off duty officer working here is a very cool and nice fella! Was good talking to him while my friends and I waited for our food!

Now this location is lil more hard body NOLA than the larger N Clairborne locationwhere you can dine in....BUT as a bonus they sell bottle liquor here...on January the crawfish are not in season but the fresh ones were still good (samples given if requested) Global Warming must be changing things. The gumbo needed a lil extra love once I got home so I added salt and hot sauce but I respect the way they let you season your Own food as you like, especially with gumbo at least it wasn't over done. The Mud bugs needed nothing but cracking and sucking. I was in heaven as I ate this I love this food chain.

We walked out through Treme on the recommendation of our Uber driver. It was worth the walk! We had the house special and popcorn shrimp from the kitchen voucher ter, and a lb of crawfish from the boiled counter, a Fanta and 2 PBR. Was about 50, and it was freshly cooked amd delicious. The portions are huge though- the house special had 3 fillers of catfish, 8 shrimp, 8 oysters, and a mountain of fries. Our son couldn't finish his shrimp meal, so we took it home. It's all served as take out, so it comes boxed, with cutlery amd sauces in the bag. You can go out with it, but there are also lots of tables so you can sit in. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the city, it's a refreshing break from the prices in the French Quarter, and the walk there or back is enough exercise
